About the Artist

Bill “Ridley” Bayer began painting as a hobby in 1988. The following year he studied with Bob Ross and became a certified instructor of Bob’s wet on wet technique. He has since studied with many other well know Bill Bayer artists developing his own style of painting. Bill has published five instructional books and three DVD’s titled “Down Roads… Less Traveled” showcasing his talents.

Bill uses his middle name “Ridley” as his signature. Ridley was also his grandfather’s name and Bill signs his paintings in “Paps” honor. Bill and his wife Fran live in St. Louis Mo. Their son Bill is in the United States Air Force and is serving in Fairbanks AK. with his new wife Cindy. Many of Bill’s compositions are inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding their home and now the state of Alaska.
